Featured Artist for August 17: New Order

Hey there fans and friends of CJSW's Up All Night! This week, I'm launching a new feature on the show designed to showcase an artist whose work has made a significant impact on the world of college radio. Each week I'll highlight 4 songs, one per hour, which chart a special act's talents and influence in the musical world.

Our first band to take the spotlight is the incomparable New Order. Since their formation in 1980 following the break-up of Joy Division, this band has been an icon of the alt-music and club circles. As the first group to marry cerebral lyrics to infectious dance beats, New Order has created a truly unique and instantly recognizable sound.
